This is a MIDI version of my fourth project in my electronic music class. This conversion was extra tricky because everything in the original version was a VST instrument. The main melody line that you hear in the original had to be split. The actual melody remained as a sqare lead of some sort, but that instrument's lower notes make a guitar-like drawn out fifth chord. I converted that into four-note chords played on an actual guitar.
The Delay Lama's singing was transferred to two General MIDI instruments: The main "Ooh Ee Ah" stuff went to a "doo" choir. His slow legato vowel fluctuations went to a cello. This cello sits behind the piano if you watch it in MIDIjam.
Obviously, the piano, horn/brass, bass, and drum parts were easier to convert. I also kept the original volume and stereo pan automation.
I worked hard on this, as you can see in the video, and it took me more work than usual to convert it to MIDI. Have you tried downloading MIDIjam yet? The program (makes MIDI songs) look(s) really cool.
